ITS NOT MEANT to take the weight of most steel bonnets but as an added guard to dropping hoods. I personally have one on a 57 Chevy just don't trust the springs etc.. Could use on on a 82 92 Camaro or Firebird everyday etc.. and latter models that run oil gas struts etc. Comes with its mount and open offset other end. Not for everybody but would help many.
