George III Sheraton Period Painted Knife Box, c.1790 Art The mustard spoon is aA rare and splendid Georgian Sheraton period painted mahogany knife box, c. 1790. Serial number stamped to the inside lid. Later converted for stationary. The box is of serpentine form with satinwood and boxwood inlay throughout. Every side is exquisitely painted, depicting fruits, flowers, musical instruments and putti.
