Rare Jacobean Oak Metamorphic Monk's Chair / Table, c.1620 Art Nouveau The maker's mark is rubbedA rare 17th century oak metamorphic monk's chair table, c. 1620. The two plank seat and arms both sit above bobbin supports. The three plank back sits on braces with removable pegs which operate as a mechanism for the back to be tilted forward, turning the chair into a table. There are three peg holes in each arm for the table to be adjusted if needed. There is a small loss to the wood on one of the braces but this is purely aesthetic and does not
