This building was erected in 1887 to a design by William Wardell for the ES & A (English, Scottish and Australia) Chartered Bank, and still stands today. Commonly known as the "The Gothic Bank", it reflects Wardell's architectural strengths in church design, while following Verdon's detailed instructions. The entire ground floor was established as the banking chamber,
