According to the auction I bought it from, it belonged to Dr. Peter Aubrey Sabine (1924 1922), a leading geologist you can read a detailed obituary here. 4 of the shelves have glazed fronts, the bottom one has a wooden front with an extra removable shelf inside. Each section graduates from small to large from the top, with a 'waterfall' side profile and brass
