George Hewett, embarked at Portsmouth, Virginia for Yorktown aboard the Brig Betsy. Beginning on 28 September, the regiment was besieged with the rest of the British Army at Yorktown, where it was stationed in the advanced redoubt on the left with the 33rd, 71st, and 80th of Foot, as well as two German units.
