Original American World War Two Era "AWS" Observer Brassard Gallantry and Long Service 5 inches have been addedAn original US WW2 era brassard, machine sewn onto blue felt. The felt is in excellent condition, very slightly faded (the inside of the brassard is slightly brighter), but no moth nips. Appears to have two period safety pins holding it together. The AWS represents the Aircraft Warning System and these brassards were used to identify themselves. Lovely American Home Front item, in excellent condition.
