消灾牌位，以在世人为对象，用于祈求吉祥，消灾延寿，增长福慧，积功累德。 一般大众在生活中往往面临不同的困难，病苦或灾难。法会期间，僧俗二众通过诵经，皈依，拜忏与各种佛事功德回向牌位主人，也请求佛菩萨加持，减轻苦难。 为他人消灾牌位也可说是对其的一种祝福。

婴灵属于未出世、流产、堕胎、胎死腹中的婴儿灵魂，也称水灵子。若婴灵不超度便难以往生、无依无靠、会跟着或产生怨气，骚扰父母。婴灵甚至也会影响家人及未来的孩子。超度婴灵除了消除怨气，也希望婴灵早日往生、离苦得乐。

The "Golden Light Sutra" records that the celestial beings vow to practice the Dharma, and to protect and assist virtuous people who recite and copying the
