Released on July 6, 1987, it was certified Platinum by the RIAA on Sept. 18, 1987 for one million copies sold. Remember Jerry Garcia (1942 1995), Phil Lesh (1940 2024), and Brent Mydland (1952 1990) and with this award. The album, the Dead's most successful, produced the Billboard Hot 100 #9 hit "Touch of Grey" and also spawned a popular MTV video. "Hell in a Bucket" and "Throwing Stones"
