Possibly from Mexico and made for the Catholic Church , embroiderd in silks and gilt wrapped thread onto a buttermilk silk grosgrain ground. Decorative elements include wonderful parrots, carnations, bows and orchids growing from pots. The textile is in good condition considering its great antiquity.
