Its an unfortunate piece of game design, though I cant immediate see what Hudson Soft couldve done to fix it other than give you a better deck out of the gate and / or implement consolation prizes, as this is arguably an issue with the TCG itself

The lower power is slightly offset by the higher scaling, especially given you are building around the theme

The website is clunky, the tier names are confusing, and you'll spend 20 minutes wondering whether your Charizard ex counts as "Economy" or "Regular" value
